Bittersweet Pemberville to Offer Unique Summer Camp for Youth and Young Adults

For ten weeks this summer Bittersweet Pemberville will offer a summer camp experience to youth and young adults (ages 12 to 21) who are on the autism spectrum. This summer camp will run from 9 am to 3 pm, June 6th through August 12th at the Pemberville Bittersweet location (1926 Kahler Rd, Pemberville, Ohio 43450).

The goal of the camp is to provide campers with a multi-faceted camp experience that is tailored to meet the individual needs of each camper. Based on the Bittersweet model, trained staff will work to maintain campers academic achievements, while facilitating traditional camp activities and experiences.

The camp is made possible in part through a grant from The Toledo Community Foundation. Fees for the program, which will run in one week intervals, will be determined on a sliding scale basis. Space is limited. Campers will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Transportation is provided by the campers. Campers should be able to be safely supported at a 1 to 3 ratio. For more information or to obtain an admission packet contact Jim Williams, 419-287-4985 or jwilliams@bittersweetfarms.org.
