- Governor DeWine announced the Responsible RestartOhio plan which aims to protect the health of employees and customers while supporting community efforts to control the spread of COVID-19, and responsibly getting back to work. A summary of the plan and reopening schedule is listed below. Click on the links below for specific guidelines.
Restaurants and bars in Ohio will be permitted to reopen for outdoor dining on May 15 and dine-in service on May 21.
Personal care services such as hair salons, barbershops, day spas, nail salons, and tanning facilities may reopen on May 15.
PREVIOUSLY ANNOUNCED
Last week the state announced that beginning on May 12, consumer, retail, and services may reopen if these businesses can meet mandatory safety requirements for customers and employees. Additionally, Manufacturing, distribution, and construction businesses, as well as general office environments, could reopen on May 4 if these businesses can meet mandatory safety requirements for customers and employees. 5 PROTOCOLS FOR ALL BUSINESSES
- Require face coverings for employees and recommend them for clients/customers at all times.
- Conduct daily health assessments by employers and employees (self-evaluation) to determine if “fit for duty.”
- Maintain good hygiene at all times – hand washing, sanitizing and social distancing.
- Clean and sanitize workplaces throughout workday and at the close of business or between shifts.
- Limit capacity to meet social distancing guidelines.
- Establish maximum capacity at 50% of fire code.
- And, use appointment setting where possible to limit congestion.
