Chamber Welcomes New Intern-Jared ArtzAt the Whitehouse Chamber, high school students can now obtain hands-on experience in a variety of departments. The Chamber internship offer responsibilities such as research, writing, data base managements, web page maintenance, communications, and event preparation. During the internship, interns will be able to network with business leaders in our community and demonstrate their skills and abilities. This internship will expose the students to real work experience in commerce, community , and economic development. Jared is ranked first in his class with a GPA of 4.7 and has the skill set to be successful and beneficial to the Chamber and its members. Upon completion of the internship, the Chamber will award $1,250 towards the college of his choice. Jared Artz is currently a senior at Anthony Wayne High School, who was born in Torrance, California and moved to Monclova, Ohio in 2005. He briefly attended Monclova Christian Academy for a year until transferring to Anthony Wayne Schools in the fifth grade and has attended ever since. Throughout high school Jared has been actively involved in playing football and lacrosse, serving as National Honor Society president and a Challenge Program Commissioner, and being a representative on Student Council. Additionally, Jared has volunteered his time extensively in the community through volunteering at the Waterville Library Summer Reading Program, a Jr. High Church Camp Counselor, and in the young children’s ministries at Cedar Creek in Whitehouse. He is currently the valedictorian of his class and plans to major in Biomedical Engineering while attending Honors Engineering College at the Ohio State University. The Chamber office hours have been expanded to Monday- Friday from 11am-5pm and closed on Thursdays. Cherry Fest Parade and Vendor Applications Online-Sign Up Today!The Downtown Community Partnership has updated to Cherry Fest website and wanted to make sure that Chamber members were aware that vendor and parade applications are available online at www.mywhitehousecherryfest.com. Chamber members receive a FREE 10ft by 15ft space at the Cherry Fest. Please contact the Jared Artz, Chamber Intern, to reserve your booth space at the Cherry Fest. Participation in the parade is FREE for everyone expect, political units, which will be charged $100 per entry. Family Movie Night To Be Offered at Cherry Fest This YearChris Ruby, State Farm Insurance is pleased to present Family Movie Night, Friday, June 8th at dusk at the park during the Cherry Fest! An Outdoor cinema is the ideal way for our families to connect and enjoy a FREE night at the movies on the lawn. Popcorn, snacks, and drinks will be made available to all attendees. Plan on attending this great evening of fun once you have enjoyed the other festivities at the festival that day. The featured film is still being finalized.
WTOL-News 11 Becomes Media Sponsor For 30th Cherry FestWTOL-News 11 will serve as our offical media sponsor for the 2012 Whitehouse Cherry Fest presented by Steve Rogers Ford. The team at WTOL will produce 105 commercial spots promoting the festival this year. Tracy Hayes, WTOL account executive, and member of the Chamber Board of Directors lead the charge to make our festival more prominent with this great media outlet. Commercials are slated to begin running in May through the week of the festival. WTOL is working on a program for our members to take advantage of shared exposure in 30 second spots that will be part of the Chamber's branding initiatives this summer and fall, we will keep you posted. | |
