Minimizing Administrative Hassles For Many Of Our Local Businesses
Would Ensure A Fair and Less Burdensome Requirement For Your Business! What Ohio House Bill 5 Means For Your Business! Ohio House Bill 59 begins to address the challenge of making Ohio’s tax climate more competitive, another obstacle in this regard is the added burden of local municipal income taxes. Ohio’s municipal tax system is the most complicated local income tax structure in the United States. Ohio is the only state where each city makes its own tax rules and regulations, forcing businesses to have to keep track of and comply with as many as 600 different sets of tax requirements, thus hindering economic growth and job creation. For the purpose of making the municipal system simpler, fairer and less burdensome to businesses across the state, the Ohio Chamber strongly supports House Bill 5. read more... On June 30, Governor Kasich signed his new state budget, which called for an immediate 50 percent state income tax deduction for most small businesses in our state. Beginning now, with the current tax season, a business owner can exclude 50 percent of Ohio net business income from the adjusted gross income they report on their Ohio personal income tax return. If the business has multiple owners, each is eligible to claim the deduction. This exclusion is available on up to $250,000, meaning the deduction is capped at $125,000 for each investor or owner. read more... Whitehouse Art In The Park
Juried Art Show, Pig Roast and Live Music
Saturday, July 20- Whitehouse Village Park The Whitehouse Arts Advisory Board will host the second annual Summer Art Show on Saturday, July 20, 2013. Live music and a pig roast in the park will add extra fun and excitement to this day-long event. A juried arts and crafts show will be held in the Village Park from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Regional artisans will set up booths to sell quality, fine arts and crafts that have been selected through a gently juried process. Items to be offered include paintings, pottery, fiber art, jewelry, lamp work beads, mixed-media, and more! Interested vendors can email whitehouse.oh.art@gmail.com or call 419-877-5383 for additional information. Live music will be provided by three musical acts. First, Bliss, an all ladies band will perform from 11:00 – 1:00 in the Village Park. Bliss plays contemporary folk music with strong harmonies. Next, Unchained will play from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, playing contemporary Christian music. From 5:00 – 8:00, the Root Cellar String Band will take the stage. The Root Cellar String Band performs throughout the Midwest playing old-time music with fiddles, banjos, guitars, bass, and mandolins, similar to bluegrass, but more danceable. They were a big hit last summer as people of all ages took over the dance floor. Everyone from age 7 to 70 will enjoy this music and we guaranty to put a smile on your face if you’re dancing or just watching. To complete the day, the Whitehouse Fire Company will be serving dinner in the park. Enjoy the smell of a pig roasting on the rotisserie throughout the afternoon. Dinner will be served beginning at 4:00 pm and will include barbequed pork sandwiches, a side dish, chips and cold beverage. Food will be available until it’s gone – get here early! What a great way to spend the day, start at the Farmers’ Market from 9 am to noon. Then shop for beautifully handcrafted, quality art from local artists, enjoy musical acts throughout the day, dance in the streets, and dig into a delectable dinner with a pig roast in the park! Lessons to be learned from the Zimmerman/Martin tragedy, and the part insurance coverage may play in the civil suits that are bound to occur in this case.
The recent not-guilty verdict in the Zimmerman murder trial has been met with very emotional responses. Now that the case has been decided—what comes next? Our feeling is the courtroom will once again be hearing about this case in civil litigations. What will the civil suits address and how will insurance play a part?
Zimmerman has already filed suit against a media outlet for defamation. This is a form of personal liability that accuses the media outlet of making libellous or slanderous comments about him. He in turn, potentially faces the same allegations because of the way he characterized the victim in this case. These allegations are often protected by a coverage called Personal Injury Protection. Most liability policies cover what is called “Incidental Bodily Injury.” This would cover a business that takes steps to protect their property or people from injury by use of physical force. Certainly the Zimmerman team would allege that he used this type of force to protect himself. read more... Sales Tax Increases Beginning On September 1, 2013
