Historic Association Health Plans Now Available

Jill Lagan

I could not be more excited!  After 18 years and the work of two BC Chamber CEOs, our efforts have culminated in the very first group health plan offering for Boulder City Chamber Investors.

Beth Walker, as BC Chamber CEO in 2000, set out to find relief for those small business owners and their employees through a traditional group health insurance plan.  Those efforts were then picked up and continued when I was hired in 2002.  We have had quasi-plans and attempts that could help ease the burden of healthcare a little, however, they were not as robust as the opportunity that has been put before us today.

The Clark County Health Plan Association (CCHPA) is in the final stages of developing a website that will provide answers to so many questions that come with the broad task of healthcare.  In the meantime, please see the Press Release to understand a few of the key points this new Association provides.  More details and in-depth information will be following this communication.

In the Boulder City Chamber's Strategic Plan 2018-2021, the Chamber's mission of helping businesses prosper, and helping our community thrive, we emphasize the need to collaborate with partners that will allow us to be a champion for a strong community, a convener for leaders and influencers, and a catalyst for smart business growth.   Answers to the healthcare costs and employee benefits align directly with our mission and we hope you find many of the new programs, benefits, and business strategies the BC Chamber will release this year to be useful tools to help your business thrive in the community we all love.

Food Safety Partnership Meeting with the SNHD

Wouldn't it be nice to have a health inspector in front of you BEFORE they come visit your restaurant or establishment for an inspection? Ask and you shall receive. The Chamber has partnered with the Southern Nevada Health District to bring you a FREE Food Safety training on Wednesday September 12 from 11:30-1:00 p.m. at Boulder Creek Golf Club in the clubhouse. The training is also offered in Spanish from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. This meeting is for EVERYONE, owners, managers, employees or even the general public. This is your opportunity to ask questions, voice concerns and learn about general food safety before it affects your establishment. Even better is if you can have your employees attend this FREE training. If you can't get all of your employees to attend, send some so they can share the information. We hope you can join us! Register at www.snhd.info/ehrcp.

Annual Awards and Installation September 21

It's that time of year again; the time where we get together, see Judge Miller in his blinged out robe and network with your fellow business owners and Chamber executives. This year the battle is on for the best Lip Sync this side of the Colorado! Have you grabbed your tickets yet? You won't want to miss it and with food being catered by Vinny's, Remedy's, Chilly Jilly'z and Southwest Diner you won't regret you came. We will honor top businesses in the community who have gone above and beyond in the community, volunteering, customer service, youth achievement and many more. We promise a great time and great food with some great people! We hope you can make it!

Social Visitors Center is Up and Running

A couple of months ago, we launched our Social Visitors Center which is a product from iAdMe (pronounced i add me) and it is up and running in our office. You may see the Social Visitors Center pop up at some of our other events such as the Wine Walk as a way to drive tourists to spend more time (and dollars) in Boulder City. This social visitors center is a way for you to link all of your social channels, websites, email and any other business information to one link that can be shared with your clients, customers, friends, neighbors and just about anyone that visits your business or that you come in contact with. Not only is it a way for you to get your information out there, your clients can IMMEDIATELY share their experience at your business with their friends on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and any other channel you have listed.

So far in the last two months, the Chamber Facebook page has been shared 21,000 times and a total of almost 1,000 actions on our page. This is all organic with zero paid Facebook ads (which by the way are not necessarily the best way to leverage your Facebook presence). Organic reach starts by building relationships with your page followers, sharing your personality along with your business, sharing purposeful ideas with your product and then finally promotional content. If you're looking to increase your social media presence and grow organically, iAdMe is offering a HUGE discount to Chamber investors. If you are interested in learning more about this amazing opportunity to get your business marketed on social media and grow your following, get in touch with us today! If you're not using social media as a way to leverage your business, we can help you with that too! Check out what ours looks like here!
