About Us

Serenity Homes is owned and operated by Ryan and Holly Baumgartel, who bring more than 20 years worth of building and design expertise to their clients’ projects. Ryan serves as the contractor, overseeing and working alongside a dedicated and consistent crew. Holly is the interior designer, serving as the conduit between clients’ ideas and a cohesive, beautiful aesthetic. Her all-inclusive interior design services remove the overwhelm that many feel when building and designing a home.
What Ryan and Holly do differently is attention to detail. Architectural and structural details are planned and executed with precision. They take home building and design seriously and understand the significance of the work they do for clients. Jobs and tasks aren’t passed off to others—they are involved in every aspect of the project. This is evident by Serenity Homes winning the People's Choice Best Home Builder Award by Des Moines Radio Group in 2022, 2023, and 2024, being featured in the Welcome Home magazine's Leaders in Home Building, and winning Gold in two categories at the DSM Magazine's 2025 Home Awards.
