The Community Expo is TOMORROW NIGHT!

HSHS Southern Illinois hospital’s recognizes Sepsis Awareness Month

Knowing the signs can save a life

(BREESE, GREENVILLE HIGHLAND, IL)  – September marks Sepsis Awareness Month, dedicated to putting a spotlight on the third leading cause of death in the U.S. – sepsis.

Sepsis is the body’s overwhelming and life-threating response to infection, which can lead to tissue damage, organ failure and death. Because sepsis can not only be treated, but prevented, thousands of lives can be saved each year by simply raising awareness of its symptoms. In 2014, Sepsis Alliance, the nation’s leading sepsis patient advocacy non-profit, designated September as Sepsis Awareness Month to draw attention to this treatable condition that takes more than 270,000 lives each year in the U.S.  (continue reading)


Hard Road Theatre Needs...

Hard Road Theatre Productions is currently accepting director applications for the 2019-2020 season until Wednesday, November 1st. If you have any interest in directing a show with Hard Road, we strongly suggest you complete our simple online application form found under the "Seeking Directors for 2019-2020" entry on their website (www.hardroad.org). Even if you don't want to direct next season, but are interested in directing in the future, please fill out the form and let us know. All submissions will be reviewed and vetted. Hard Road Theatre Productions is a non-profit theatre company committed to providing the metro-east area with high-quality, live theatre productions. There is no payment or stipend for directors.


HSHS St. Joseph's Fall Health Fair

HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland will host their fall health fair Friday, October 19, from 5:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Highland Hope Church, located at 12846 Daiber Road, Highland, IL. Pre-registration for an appointment will only take place in person, in the main lobby of the Hospital and on the dates listed below. Walk-in appointments are only available from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for those who do not pre-register.   Dates/Times & Fees here.
