• WHAT: A Multi-Agency Resource Center will open Sunday and Monday to provide recovery resources for people affected by the May 21 tornado in Greenfield and surrounding communities.
• WHY: Trained English and Spanish-speaking caseworkers will be available at the MARC to help people create personal recovery plans, navigate paperwork, and locate assistance for their specific disaster-caused needs, such as mental health support, housing and unemployment assistance, animal supplies, assistance for groceries, rent, medicine and other items or services.
•LOCATION: The MARC will be located at the Nodaway Valley Elementary School. Use the building’s southeast entrance.

Tuesday, June 4 - Sports, Sports, Sports (6-12)
Youth will play a variety of sports, everything from Soccer to Tumbling! Snacks provided.

Thursday, June 6 - Talent Show (6-12)
Youth will plan and perform a talent for their peers. Snacks provided.

Tuesday, June 11 - Stem Camp (8-12)
Science and Engineering Camp. Learn to build solar machines and other activities. Snacks provided.

Thursday, June 13 - Splish, Splash (6-10)
Youth will be having fun with water, swimsuits or swim trunks are encouraged! Snacks provided.

Tuesday, June 18 - Tye Dye (7-12)
Youth will spend the morning tye dyeing 3 items of their choice. We will provide the tye dye, string, and rubber bands. Each child will be in charge of bringing items to tye dye (i.e. t-shirt, pillow case, hair tie, etc.) Snacks provided.

Thursday, June 20 - Under the Sea (6-12)
Youth will go exploring under the sea with a mix of playful ocean activities. Snacks will be provided.

Tuesday, July 2 - Around the Campfire (7-12)
Youth will go on a nature adventure at the Old Lake. They will go on a nature adventure, make campfire snacks, and play backyard games.

Preserve the Taste of Summer 101

Love that fresh garden produce but have more than you can eat? Preserve it! It’s not difficult, but you do need to follow safe methods. You’ll learn how to can, freeze, and dry foods safely at home in this introductory course.

Intended audience: 10 + With adult guardian
Format: 4-hour workshop

Junior Cooking Camp

Join us for our Jr. cooking camp! Participants will learn how to cook an egg in several different ways. Then, will be sent to the "grocery store" to shop for ingredients within their budget to make a delicious dish. Their recipe will then be marketed to the rest of the group, and sampled!

Registration can be found on the Adair County Extension website or stop into the office Monday-Thursday 8-5pm!

The Adair County Supervisors serve as the policymakers for the county and administer the various county programs. Their powers include reviewing budget requests, appropriating funds, establishing county tax levies, enacting ordinances, filling employee vacancies, and hearing reports from county officers. The Board is also responsible for overseeing economic development in the county. The Boards of Supervisors’ responsibilities are defined by Iowa Code chapter 331. The Chamber Main Street & Development Networking Luncheon is on the 1st Thursday at Noon in the City Hall Meeting Room.  

Reservations are required and due by Noon on the Tuesday before the meeting if you would like to have a meal. You are always welcome to attend the meeting whether you eat with us or not. You are also welcome to bring in your own lunch. 

The Luncheon costs $12 per person and includes a meal by one of our supporting businesses, attendee introductions, Chamber Main Street & Development business and committee updates, and time for business and community concerns and announcements.

Footliters Traveling Playhouse: The Vanishing to the Jolly Roger is a week-long workshop for children interested in exploring the exciting world of theatre! The camp is designed for students of all backgrounds, experience levels, and training.

Anchors aweigh! When the Jolly Roger vanished into the Bermuda Triangle three hundred years ago, the world thought it was gone for good... until now. Join this swashbuckling pirate crew on an island adventure as they learn what is possible when we work together. 

Registration is first come, first served, and everyone that signs up will be cast. We're excited to have young actors climb with us on a theatrical voyage this summer!

Camp registration will close the Friday before each camp or when the camp reaches maximum capacity of 20 participants. Around the Campfire is capped at 15 participants.

 
Tuesday, June 4 - Sports, Sports, Sports (6-12)
Youth will play a variety of sports, everything from Soccer to Tumbling! Snacks provided.

Thursday, June 6 - Talent Show (6-12)
Youth will plan and perform a talent for their peers. Snacks provided.

Tuesday, June 11 - Stem Camp (8-12)
Science and Engineering Camp. Learn to build solar machines and other activities. Snacks provided.

Thursday, June 13 - Splish, Splash (6-10)
Youth will be having fun with water, swimsuits or swim trunks are encouraged! Snacks provided.

Tuesday, June 18 - Tye Dye (7-12)
Youth will spend the morning tye dyeing 3 items of their choice. We will provide the tye dye, string, and rubber bands. Each child will be in charge of bringing items to tye dye (i.e. t-shirt, pillow case, hair tie, etc.) Snacks provided.

Thursday, June 20 - Under the Sea (6-12)
Youth will go exploring under the sea with a mix of playful ocean activities. Snacks will be provided.

Tuesday, July 2 - Around the Campfire (7-12)
Youth will go on a nature adventure at the Old Lake. They will go on a nature adventure, make campfire snacks, and play backyard games.
