The Richmond Electricians' Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (RJATC) has been a Registered Apprenticeship since 1946. It is a joint training program between the Atlantic Coast Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Associationa (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) , aimed at training the best electrical workers the industry has to offer.
The RJATC is part of the largest apprenticeship and training organization of its kind in the United States, the electrical training ALLIANCE (ETA), which has trained over 350,000 apprentices to journey worker status through local affiliate programs throughout the country.
Over the years, we have continually trained the best electricians in the industry without cost to the taxpayer. RJATC students in our training program earn while they learn while in the apprenticeship. Not only does this allow students to earn an income while in school, it also creates new tax revenue for the economy. Each year, participants in our program pay thousands of dollars in taxes to support our community. This is truly a model program as it takes little to nothing from the taxpayers while training some of the most productive workers in the world who contribute to our economy.
Our apprenticeship program is approved and registered with the State of Virginia and the U.S. Department of Labor.
