Willows Music Boosters
Are once again, gearing up for their ANNUAL LAMB DERBY RUN/WALK “FUN” D-RAISER. This event will be held prior to the Lamb Derby Parade, on Saturday, May 9th 2015. Entry fees are $10 for adults and $5 for students. If desired, a t-shirt may be purchased for an additional $15.00. This annual fundraiser is one of our major sources of funding which directly supports the music programs at Murdock Elementary, Willows Intermediate and Willows High Schools. We raise money for instruments, instrument repair, sheet music, music stands, reeds, valve oil, travel to competitions, and marching band uniforms. Last fall, WHS Honker Band won the Annual Battle of the Mace against Orland High School, for the second year in a row. They performed at Santa Cruz Marching Band Competition, Honker Football Games, WHS Rallies, and Winter & Spring Concerts and won top honors at the Chico State Band Festival. The WIS Cardinal Band also hosts a Winter & Spring Concert and they too won top honors at the Chico State Band Festival. Murdock Elementary Music Students are learning rhythm, how to read music, and experimenting on several different percussion type instruments.
Enjoy performances by the Willows High School Honker Band, and the Willows Intermediate School Cardinal Band in the Lamb Derby and Glenn County Fair Parades.
All parents are encouraged to attend the Music Booster meetings, which are held the 1st Monday of the month, at 5:30 pm, at Round Table.
